International Juried Competition
Winners Gallery
Enter the LACDA 'Top 40' juried competition featuring digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable.
Forty winners will be selected and receive one print up to 24x36 on museum quality paper to be shown in an international group exhibition in our gallery. The show will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artists. L.A. Center for Digital Art exhibit dates: May 14-June 6. Artists Reception May 14, 7-9pm in conjunction with the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk.
Additional Exhibit at California Museum of Photography:
In collaboration with the L.A. Center for Digital Art, winners will also be exhibited on three 42" plasma screens at the Digital Studio Gallery in the California Museum of Photography, a part of UCR/Arts Block (http://artsblock.ucr.edu/), during the months of July and August. A reception for the artists will be held July 2, 6-8pm during the First Thursday Artswalk in Riverside and the winners will be exhibited on the plasma screens through August 22.

Description:
LACDA 'Top 40' juried competition featuring digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. This call is international, open to all geographical locations. Multiple entries are permitted, separate entry fee required for each set of three images submitted.

Winners will be asked to FTP, overnight or express post high resolution files to the gallery for printing.
Benefits of entering:
Many artists from this exhibit continue their relationship with LACDA for exhibit in solo shows, exhibits curated outside of LACDA and exhibit in art and photo fairs where LACDA participates. All entries are given special consideration for exhibiting at LACDA and outside exhibitions where we are featured.
Artists participating in our competitions form the pool of artists from which we select the vast majority of those featured at LACDA and are often considered by our associated network of galleries, museums and curators. Proceeds from the competition support these gallery programs.

Submission Rules:
Registration and submission are done through our web site only. File uploads are the only accepted submissions maximum of 2MB each. Please do not send materials to LACDA. All materials sent to LACDA will not be viewed and cannot be returned.
Images must be under two megabites in size each. Winners will be asked to provide high resolution images for final output. Entrants may be asked to provide more examples of their work and more detailed descriptions for consideration.

All artwork will be offered for sale. Gallery retains 50% of all sales. Winners retain ownership of all unsold works. All artwork remains the intellectual property of the winner. Winner agrees to allow use of their images for promotional purposes only.

About the Jurors
Reginald Woolery
Curator of Education & Digital Studio Gallery at UC Riverside California Museum of Photography. The museum presents historical and contemporary photographic exhibitions and new media related projects. It contains the largest collection of Keystone stereoscopes in the United States as well as cameras, photographs, artifacts of various time periods.
Rex Bruce
Aritist, Curator, Director LACDA - Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. Curated or participated in over 75 exhibits, screenings, panels and events since opening LACDA in early 2004 including the Guggenheim Gallery at Chapman University, Centre Georges Pompidou (France), California Museum of Photography, Laznia Center for Contemporary Art (Poland), and exhibits in collaboration with SIGGRAPH, Dance Camera West/UCLA Live/Hammer Museum, SCI-Arc and the Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles. He is known internationally for his advocacy and leadership within the digital arts community.
