Jared Fortunato's "Transcriptions" series represents internal states reflected in the outside world. He uses the self portrait, eliminating the boundaries of what is concealed or revealed in the image. Primarily through digital processes, he transforms and manipulates elements from his experience and physical environment into highly constructed images that delve into memory, perception and emotion. He uses the work to explore the universality of these themes, the intimate nature of each piece an catalyst for self reflection in the viewer.
